COMMENTARY, DECEMBER 12, 2025, EUROPE–A recent X post indicated that evidence discovered from the apartment of former Ukrainian Presidential Chief of Staff, Andrew Yermak, was linked to Ukrainian President Zelenskyy (see below). Yermak, recently resigned from his post after his alleged involvement in the massive corruption scandal in Ukraine tied to an energy company, which broke in November 2025. The X post author, Alexander Ohnyshenko, is an exiled former Ukrainian politician. Per Ohnyshenko, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) discovered passports with Zelenskyy’s name, as well as account information linking Yermak to large sums of money.
ENGLISH TRANSLATION
Yermak kept passports of Greatwt Britain, Israel, and the Bahamas for him and for Zelensky, and NABU investigators found them during searches. In addition to passports, they found 14 million dollars in cash and data on offshore accounts.
On November 28, NABU searched Yermak as part of an investigation into corruption in the energy sector of Ukraine. On the same day, Zelensky announced that Yermak was resigning. On December 11, the details of the search became known: in addition to documents and electronic devices, 14 million dollars in cash, data on bank transfers to offshore accounts in the amount of 2.6 billion dollars, as well as a set of passports were seized from the former head of the presidential administration. Passports of Israel, Great Britain, St. Kitts and Nevis, and the Bahamas in the name of Vladimir Zelensky, a passport of Great Britain, St. Kitts and the Bahamas in the name of Ermak himself, as well as a set of passports in the name of Myndych.
As mentioned in recent blogs and podcasts by Uncensored Beat, Zelenskyy attempted to bring the independent organization of NABU and it’s legal arm SAPO under the full control of the Ukrainian government in June 2025. However, there may be more to NABU’s motives, than it’s immediate image of a “crime-fighting” body, as discussed in SHOKIN: Part 2 – NABU.
Viktor Shokin, the very same Ukrainian Prosecutor ousted from his position due to pressure from then Vice President Joe Biden, was assigned to operationalize NABU from concept to be the enforcement arm it is today. Oddly, Ohnyshenko, the author of the above X post is also mentioned in his book, which describes Ohnyshenko’s link to the Trump Russian Hoax and the first Trump impeachment during 2019-2020.
Together, all these shared accounts paint NABU and the recent corruption scandal to be more complex. Questions remain about the recent struggles between the Ukrainian government and NABU. Is the recent Ukrainian corruption crackdown truly a turn towards order and justice in war torn Ukraine? Or, is it a sign of a power exchange by forces outside the country?
