UPDATED 4:33 JANUARY 5, 2024 TO CLARIFY THAT ZELENSKYY ASKED MALYUK TO RESIGN AS SBU HEAD NOT RETAIN HIM. JANUARY 5, 2025–KIEV. Today, Zelenskyy announced on X his decision to ask Vasyl Malyuk to resign form his current position as the head of the Seurity Services of Ukraine (SBU), and instead focus on special operations against Russia.
In a recent article by a the Ukrianian publication, Journalistic Investigations, Malyuk’s role was questioned. The article, which reviewed many of the investigative prosecutorial gaps related to the Oleg Kulinich case, reveals evidence of possible ties between Malyuk and Putin himself.

The origins of the 2022 Russian-Ukrianian conflict are currently described as the result of infiltration by pro-Russian assets in the highest levels of the Ukrainian security services, like the SBU, per the “official” invetigations of the Ukrainian government. The complexities of the systems of Ukrainian corruption lead down rabit holes filled with U-turns and knots one would say. However, this recent change admist the prolonging war, yet shortly after the meeting with U.S. heads of state in Florida and the corruption scandal indicate an abrupt switch for Ukraine. Recent headlines tout Malyuk as a central figure leading Ukrainian offensives against Russia despite his issues with anti-corruption boides. Pressure to remove Malyuk is being linked to the recent effort to block the NABU and SAPO organizations that are heavily influenced by the EU and NATO, as featured in the Uncensored Beat podcast Shokin: Part 2 – NABU.
Meanwhile, Oleg Kulinich remains in confinement without any formal charges, with only a ruling by media as a Russian mole and traitor. The “official” SBU investigations which lead to Oleg Kulinich’s arrest and headed by Malyuk, were put into question when a recent Ukrainian court filing indicated that the evidence presented was doctored, which was featured in the Uncensored Beat podcast Ukraine Uncovered: Kulinich Patriot or Traitor Part 2.
