SEPTEMBER 16, 2025, UKRAINE–VIKTOR  SHOKIN the wronged Ukrainian Prosecutor General emerges from out of the shadows and once more into the American public eye. His purpose is simple. Tell the American public about the inner workings of corruption, profiteering, and elitism rooted in Ukraine ten years ago by Democrats. If one wonders how the Democratic Party divorced its openness to public discourse and advocacy for public welfare, one may find the answers in Shokin’s tale.

Nearly ten years ago, Shokin was disgraced, forced out of his position as the head attorney of Ukraine after apparently successfully sniffing down sources of corruption, which robbed from both the pockets of the U.S. and the Ukrainian citizen. After much investigation, the stench led Shokin’s team to Hunter Biden, the son of then U.S. Vice President Joe Biden.  According to Shokin, that is why Joe Biden said what he said, which was a conditional threat of withholding foreign aid funds to Ukraine unless Shokin was fired.

Shokin held a strong reputation as a highly capable attorney internationally before he took the office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine among those who knew him and even after. He did his job. He even notes in his soon to be published memoirs that the President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko found no reasons to fire him except to bend to Biden’s terms. However he shares about the effective public campaign to smear his squeaky-clean image among the masses, even in the U.S. as experienced during Trump’s first impeachment trial.

Shokin’s tale is not a personal vendetta, though his testimony describes an organized persecution of him. There are lessons  to be learned from his story. They include  accounts of intentional acts to misdirect public funds, hidden transfers, shell companies and affiliates that profit public figures who establish and oversee laws. These public beneficiaries resided on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, in Ukraine and the U.S. His story can give reasons as to why family values, true equal opportunity and economic ascent are so far removed from today’s Democratic party. The harrowing headlines in the last few months are bleak for the Democrats. The mask has slipped, as they say, for the Democratic Party. Per Shokin’s upcoming book, the mask slips even further revealing a corrupt legacy.
